Just took a brief look into this. It's possible now since we have software effects.
Although the fire wont look exactly the same as Razer's, we can use this to simulate it.
Will keep this updated.

I actually implemented this. It didn’t look too good though because Razer’ one actually uses a fade effect in between colour changes (changes in brightness). Their one looks much more like a fire whereas my one looks like it’s flickering. 😂

Nice! I've been familiarizing myself with the code base to try to implement this. I was thinking of changing the brightness of colors in individual keys, like we do in the starlight and breathe effects. Could we use that to replicate the fire effect?

Would you mind making a PR with your implementation, would love to tweak/improve it!

The one I’ve implemented does not look as good as the Razer one, as they are doing some sort of fading/brightness control. So I hoping someone else could have a go. I used this filipedeschamps/doom-fire-algorithm: Playground for the fire effect from DOOM. Really simple algorithm and all experiments are welcome! (github.com)<https://github.com/filipedeschamps/doom-fire-algorithm> and mapped the colour bits it to the keyboard colours. Looks a bit choppy to my eyes mind you. Linked the fire-effect implementation in #959 here as well. It adds a keyboard Fire effect via the existing custom-frame animation path, exposes it in the tray menu, and persists/restores the effect state.
