And is it possible to keep the bot online 24/7 online with this even if the host goes offline? For example, if I disable Glitch’s always on feature?

Hi. The connection monitor tool is used to prevent an old Pokemon Showdown bug I call Ghost Connection. Basically, you will be still connected, but you stop receiving messages, and also if you try to send messages, they won't come through.

To fix this old bug, I added the Connection Monitor. It basically does the following:

• Every 30 seconds, the bot checks if it received any messages recently.
• If the last message it received from the server was longer than 30 seconds ago, it will send a test message (a random command to receive an error message back from the server or something).
• If 60 seconds or more passed since the last message was received, the connection is considered dead, and the bot is restarted automatically to fix it.

I think is bug was fixed years ago. The connection monitor feature is still there in case it comes back, or a similar bug happens in the future.

No. In order to keep the bot online, your hosting has to keep the bot running in a machine. This is not a thing that can be done with software.
