Sorry for the long wait for a response. I am referring to the ui hud in that, yes. I was thinking on adding compat to match the hud theme so that stats are easier displayed to the player such as mana, battery on equipment, etc. The api would be for other developers to self-integrate compatibility for the similarity here.
Honestly your lack of documentation here is what is confusing me. Hope this clarified.

Side thought, I browsed through the source, and I noticed you comment information that explains it. Maybe a "wiki" on how it works would be a direct fix to my issue?

i might work on a wiki soon, i already have quite a few notes on HUD rendering.
