Description

Android APK is not compiling due to an outdated compileSdk when using id("com.android.application") version "8.13.0". Please update the compileSdk to the latest version to ensure compatibility.

Impact

We are unable to release our app due to this issue. The build process fails during the :applovin_max:checkReleaseAarMetadata task.

@cemtuver-applovin Hey there, did you get a chance to review my issue? We are already using AppLovin in our app, but we can’t update our Android plugin version because of incompatibility with AppLovin. Since AppLovin relies on outdated versions, upgrading the SDK is blocked, and we’re stuck having to use a lower version to build the app. This issue is requesting an upgrade to the Android Gradle version, which is the recommended version by Google to ensure wider compatibility.

Try using Android Gradle Plugin 8.12.1 while keeping your Gradle wrapper at 13.0.

Several plugins (Not only Applovin-MAX) are not yet fully compatible with AGP 8.13 and above, which can lead to build issues. For now, it’s best to stick with AGP 8.12.1 for stable results.

@elkhalifte We can build the app, but not with newer versions. This issue was created to encourage the AppLovin team to upgrade it gracefully before Google forces the change on us developers through app rejections or other policy violations.
