So the Default layout is the PC layout, which is wrong. (PC has - with 6 and _ with 8, while Mac has - and _ on one key, after 0)
Asahi should default to the French (Macintosh) layout. In addition this layout has its @/# and </> keys swapped.

Asahi should still fix the default to Fr (Mac) too.

The key-swap part of the issue is related to APPLE_ISO_TILDE_QUIRK, see this comment on issue #2
Workaround is actually documented in the the Asahi Linux FAQ
echo 1 > /sys/module/hid_apple/parameters/iso_layout
see AsahiLinux/linux#21 for more context
