navdata_vision_detect.msg -> type field

type is a reserved world in Python, so it is not possible to access navdata_vision_detect.type [i] without getting an error. Is it possible to change the field to another name?

Thank you for reporting this.

I don't think it's a good idea to rename the field in one go since it will break backward compatibility. The roadmap should be:

1. Add a new field to navdata_vision_detect to replace the type field i.e detect_type
2. Deprecate navdata_vision_detect.type in 1.5 by adding comments to the .msg file and updating the documentation.
3. Remove type field in 1.6
