[BUG] MacOS prebuilt release crashes on MacOS #559

Describe the bug
After installing the MacOS prebuilt release of IoT Explorer it crashes with an Error "Azure IoT Explorer Preview quit unexpectedly
".

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Download prebuilt release 0.15.0 for MacOS, DMG file
  2. Open DMG file
  3. Move IoT Explorer icon to Applications folder
  4. Start IoT Explorer

Expected behavior
It should start the application.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: MacOS
  • OS Version: 12.6 (both Intel and M1)
  • App version 0.15.0.20220912.3

It also crashes on my machine. I have an M1 MacBook Air. Version 0.14.5 seems to work for me.

Same issue on M1 Max MacBook Pro, on macOS Ventura. Similarly, Version 0.14.5 works for me.

Hi , thank you for making us aware of this issue. The electron builder dependency has been broken for us since 0.14.5, and thus we stopped releasing Mac version.
I will delete the Mac version from the release til we have a proper fix.

@YingXue Can you please tell me which version that i would able to run in MacOs now?

Unfortunately, there is no version which works with the present IoT Hub implementation. The MacOS installer needs to be a priority.
