Hello!
I have a massive problem: I can't create a PDF.

When I print with Boomaga, the interface comes up and shows the job to be printed and after confirming, the window closes and nothing happens.

But if I enter boomaga --started-from-cups /var/cache/boomaga/ralf/in_1501.cboo.autoremove in the console then the corresponding document is opened and saving is also possible.

I have also tried it in a forum: https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/boomaga-starte-nicht-im-kde/65748 - unfortunately without success. Occasionally it worked again, only to fail again.
I am at my wit's end.

What could be the problem and how can I get it to work again permanently?

I use Boomaga under EndeavorOs with XFCE and KDE6.

Same issue here with MX Linux 23.6 KDE:

• Boomaga crashes silently if called via its CUPS "printer" entry, only leaving an entry "[Boomaga GUI] ERROR: Can't start boomaga gui." in the CUPS error log behind. It does successfully its temporary print file (under /var/cache/boomaga/) though which means all program components except that GUI call from CUPS work.
• Boomaga crashes with an error message as described in issue Boomaga v3.0.0 Release is incompatible with ghostscript newer than V9.53 (but source was fixed by Pull Request 108, 2022-02-20). #136 if called from Okular only (unsure though who's the culprit here - Boomaga, Ghostsctipt or Okular)
• Boomaga works nicely though if you open the program directly and load a PDF file via File --> Open which tells me it is something with the CUPS driver.

Does anybody know if (maybe by a changed security default setting) CUPS is not allowed to execute programs any more?

AFAIR the backend is trying to start the GUI first with the "boomaga" command and then via several DBUS commands and fails with that - and I have no clue why, because the "boomaga '/var/cache/boomaga/myuser/in_123.cboo.autoremove'"command works perfectly fine as soon as I execute it from the terminal myself.

For the time being, I will save the file(s) I want to print as PDFs, then open Boomaga manually and load those. Cumbersome, but since there is no real alternative I know of...
