ChroMapper version
What version of ChroMapper are you running? It can be seen by pressing Escape in the Editor, or on the bottom right of the Options menu. If you clone and built ChroMapper from the source, what commit did you clone from?

Cannot enter Chromapper, thus i cannot see my current version. But the version i was on 7 days ago was: 0.10.763

Describe the Issue
Type a clear and concise description of what the problem is.

Upon clicking open, it shows a small window with an ! and then crashes without a pardon or a given reason

Provide Screenshots or Videos
Providing screenshots and videos (especially if you are encountering an error message) will help a lot to helping us debug the issue.

Chromapper fail

If the Development Console is open and showing errors, PLEASE click on the specific error to open the Stack Trace. The "Stack Trace" is the exact location in ChroMapper's code that caused the error, and how it was executed. Providing the Stack Trace with your bug report will allow us to immediately find and fix the problem.

Steps to Reproduce
Describe the exact steps which reproduce the problem in as many details as possible.

I tried updating my laptop to it's newest version, i have a Victus from HP. If that is the info asked of me here, English isn't my strongest point so apologies.

Expected Behavior
What did you expect to happen? How did this differ from what actually happened?

i expected the file to work again, as it sometimes does with other files upon updating your laptop. Nothing happened.

Additional Context
Add any other context about the problem here.

This happened out of nowhere. Nothing was done with the files, nothing was changed or touched. What is shown on the picture is exactly what i see before it crashes

you should be able to find the logfile under AppData\LocalLow\BinaryElement\ChroMapper
tho i doubt this logfile will have anything since you crash upon startup
explorer_mQcFsH7FZU

to find the crash you might wanna look in eventviewer
its a windows logger that logs everything just ignore the fact its danish.
but with that you should be able to find the crash under event viewer.
tho i doubt it may have the actual reason behind it (i could be wrong)

ps im not a part of the dev team for chromapper i just use it a lot

It says something went wrong with the kernelbase.ddl, is this fixable in any way? I tried reinstalling everything but it didn't work at all

ohh shit ive seen this issue before
apparently 0xe0434352 or better known as System.IO.FileNotFoundException is a general issue in windows

by pinning any application to your taskbar and then unpinning it again should so some refresh and hopefully fix the crash,

as the image shows: pin any application from your tesktop and then unpin it
this should fix it
aid6721032-v4-1200px-Pin-a-Program-to-the-Windows-10-Taskbar-Step-18

just learned about this KERNALBASE error from this forum page thingy
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1457291/kernelbase-dll-exception-code-0xe0434352-fault-off

when i mean any application i mean any application but not Chromapper

So i tried that, but because i deleted Chromapper to reinstall it, it now starts CM launcher, a pop up saying "checking for updates" appears, but it crashes again without even making progress on checking for updates. I just cannot get it to work, do you have any other suggestions?

I got this right now, i set CML to my home page and opened it there. it got past the update screen, but during starting up it crashed again. then i opened the map visible on the screenshot and opened that Chromapper with the exact same results as the moment i posted my first issue. What do i do from here?

@MrKingfisher

since it has now downloaded the files and such. can you try again to pin and unpin and application to taskbar
if it still shows that KERNALBASE error
if that doesn't work then i don't know what todo from here

So, it's no longer the KERNALBASE, now it is the UnityPlayer.dll

found this regarding UnityPlayer.dll crash

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/help-games-that-use-unityplayerdll-crash/fbcdea60-7a64-4e19-969a-ce5b4c9de137

this reminds me. Maybe if u have some kind of antivirus that it may have flagged chromapper and thereby preventing it from launch

I did as the forum said, but i'm met with "The module UnityPlayer.dll can't be loaded"

i do run an antivirus, but i checked and it wasn't blocked in any way, even gave chromapper some extra permissions from the antivirus so it wont ever interrupt. But that also ultimately failed.
