Downloading STV programmes on a PC no longer works #1430
Comments
Just to let you know the setup that kind of worked:- A Windows 7 PC, running Kodi 20.2, using tvcatchupandmore 0.2.39 beta40 Hope this helps. |
You could give a try |
Where can I get catchuptvandmore 0.2.39 beta40 to try it on a newer setup (win 11, kodi 21.1) |
No luck with that plugin i'm afraid. Attribute Error 'DownloadError' object has no attribute 'message' And the working replacement 'uktvplay.py' got overwritten by the very old non-working version. |
New test version Old beta of CUTVM can be found here |
This new test version seems to be the same as the one from a few days ago that I tested - beta16 - has the same errors and doesn't work. However, 0.2.39beta40 still works in the same manner as explained above - it stops doing it's thing a few times, but just click 'download' again until it finishes correctly generating an mp4 (video only) and an m4a (audio only) files. Unfortunately it then reports that it can't move the mp4 and exits with an error and so doesn't get round to merging the mp4 and m4a into an mp4 with audio and video, like kodi 20.2 on win7 does. |
Like this, I do not know what is wrong. Your best to see this issue is to do a regression test; to see how to do such a thing, here is a very good tuto to aadpt for Catchuptvandmore |
I'm using V0.2.40-beta15 on Kodi21.1 on a Windows 11 PC
On older versions of Kodi (18.9) I used to be able to download UK TV shows from STV catch-up TV, but this no longer works, reporting the error:-
Download() takes 4 positional arguments but 5 were given
This bug has been present for many years as on kodi 18.9 I had to switch off auto-renaming of the created file to get it to work, and a few attempts for it to finish correctly. I manually renamed the file 'manifest.mp4', but it did work.
Widevine needed to be installed, and after which the programmes play great. But they just won't download.
