Hi, I love Peninsula and hope that the project continues to develop sustainably.
On my MBP m3 under macOS 14 it has at least regular dropouts. After 1-2 days of use (my MBP only goes to sleep), Peninsula behaves strangely.
Sometimes the app switcher stops and the internal one takes over again or the notification is no longer displayed.
After restarting Peninsula, it works again until the next time.

Certainly not a problem where you know where to start. Perhaps a version with tracing would reveal the cause?

If you're still experiencing this issue, could you please check whether it occurs while you're using your Mac or directly after waking it from sleep? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce it.

The problem is not related to the idle state. For example, I have 48 notifications in NetNewsWire. When switching through the apps, the counter to the right of the notch suddenly disappeared - I had to restart Peninsula before it was back.
The problem occurs very rarely - so far I have not been able to identify any connection to activities on my Mac

The total notification count won't display when it exceeds 50. I’m unsure if this bug applies to your situation.

Okay, then we're dealing with two issues. However, it makes no sense to me to no longer display a notification at 50.
I know that the number stops at 99 before it reaches three digits, but why at 50 .... and why not display anything at all?
Peninsula would then no longer be usable for RSS notifications.
You should consider adjusting the behaviour.
This solves the first problem.
The hang happens less often. I would say it happened twice in the last week

This issue arises from a corner case I overlooked. The main reason is that Apple’s SF Symbols only support up to 50.square.fill, and no further. I’ll work on resolving this bug.

Okay, I see - it would at least be possible to display the ‘larger arrow’ symbol at greater than 50 to show that notifications are available. In principle, if this were possible, I would personally favour the standard red circle with the white numbers anyway

Happy New Year and thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I can't access it.
Peninsula 0.0.7 hangs after starting.
I had already reassigned rights in the control panel.

Could you please check whether this version hangs: https://github.com/Celve/Peninsula/releases/tag/v0.0.7-post.1

Yes, this version works

Had the same problem, now it works again.
I was refusing a macOS reboot since I had several projects open.
