Plans to upgrade to Videojs 8?

Hello community! Excellent work! I wanted to ask if you are planning to update videojs to version 8. And if you have already tried, what kind of problems have you faced?
In my personal case, I have to use some very obsolete plugins to be able to continue using PT with VJS7.

Unfortunately video.js completely broke typescript types: videojs/video.js#8242

So it's blocking us to migrate from version 7 to 8.
