It has been (encumbrance) one of the most perplexing things to me for a while now.
Namely the static and absolute nature of it with no way to affect it or to some extent mitigate it.
No matter the character, it's stats, traits, mutations etc., it's always the same in it's values.
It' makes little to no logical sense for your cyborg/mutant killing machine with apex level stats to be struggling to operate with the same amount of gear on you as your everyday chump survivor straight out of a shower with all the baseline stats.
I'd like to suggest making encumbrance to be more "flexible", easiest way would be to just give strength and agility additional modifiers to encumbrance penalty. Lets say every 2 points of strength above average 8 would mitigate 1 encumbrance point on all parts and agility would do the same with every, lets say 3 points. (values are just a ball park).
This would allow for more diversity in equipment choices, give more incentive to invest in those stats for builds that usually neglect them and give mutations/cbms that affect those stats more "weight", also would make certain mutation trees more sensible. Hell, if someone is feeling particularly fruity, some mutations and cbms could be tweaked to modify encumbrance too.
As of terms of balance, I'd say dealing with temperatures and managing warmth is more than enough, only thing it would really affect is cold seasons, making them possibly more "survivable"
Any thoughts, additional suggestions and critical opinion would be appreciated.
