Description:
I have to manually launch AutoHDR with admin rights. Otherwise it will close itself. So auto-start function doesn't work either.

Desktop :

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro v21H2
  • Version: 1.9.3 (and probably some of the older versions too)

Hardware:

  • Monitor: LG OLED C1 48"
  • Graphics card: Zotac RTX 3080 Ti Trinity OC
  • Graphics card driver: 497.29

Please move AutoHDR to the desktop and start it without admin rights. Is this working for you? javsp @.> schrieb am Sa. 8. Jan. 2022 um 17:32:

Are you using the release or do you compile AutoHDR by yourself?

It looks like something is denying AutoHDR to load the embedded HDRController.dll. Which antivirus software are you using? Try to add AutoHDR to the exception list for testing.

I'm only using Windows Defender antivirus. The path from where I launch AutoHDR is already excluded.

I've done it now but it closes itself without admin rights.

BTW, here is the log when I grant the process admin rights: AutoHDR.log

My AutoHDR (1.9.4) works without admin rights, only as a hint.

What I've done to temporally solve this is to create a scheduled task so AutoHDR executes each time the user logs in to Windows. I can grant admin rights to the process from the scheduled task properties.

I know but that doesn't work if the app is executed when Windows starts. That's the reason I made a scheduled task.

Finally I can launch AutoActions without admin rights with the latest version (1.9.12).

As I assumed, this was a "feature" of some security software.
