Apple Feedback Assistant ID: MISSING

Reported by Chris & Rod:

We are experiencing problems since upgrading to FCPX 11.1. When ingesting 4k 50p XAVC-L Footage the files are ingested as black and are thus impossible to use. The original files are fine. There have been problems that others have reported in the past, but they relate to higher frame rates I believe. We could convert everything to ProRes but that would make our library massive. Importantly, we tried a very old completed library too, updated it as per Fcp11.1 needs, and that presented the same problem, despite previously having worked on all historical FCP releases over the past four or five years!

This is occurring on 2 Mac Studios, 1 is a Mac Studio M1 Max and the other is a M1 Ultra. Both have 64gb of RAM, are running Sequoia 15.3.2 most recent update and we did not have any issues on either machine before upgrading. Have also updated the Pro Video formats to no avail, though the issue was present on 1 machine before upgrading the Pro Formats too.

Until the bug gets fixed, try dragging the footage parent folder into an event instead of using the Import dialog. You'll get a bunch of warnings that FCP doesn't understand Sony's XMLs but everything should import properly.
