why this happening i can’t give item to a other player… every time I start the server I have to restart the ox_inventory and then i can give the item to other player #

You're going to need to provide more details then just pictures of your screen. Reasons for that notification to show are numerous:

• Target player inventory is set as busy - code
• Item doesn't exist, don't have sufficient amount of the item, target inventory can't carry it, distance between players is to big - code
• Item within slot is being used - code
• A hook has denied the giving of the item, the item couldn't be added to the target inventory - code

Being that there are multiple reasons this can occur and many of these being caused by either external resources or modifications to the resource itself our ability to provide support on it is limited. We can only indicate what the issue is as it's not internal to the inventory and a unique report.

Provide which version of the inventory you are using, the framework, and try downloading the latest version of the inventory, not the main one. If the error persists, apply debugging to the checks.

Our team ran into this same issue and tracked down the root cause. There are actually two bugs in the give system.

Bug 1: Inventory.GetSlotForItem ignores empty slots for stackable items (main cause)

In modules/inventory/server.lua, the GetSlotForItem function only tracks empty slots when item.stack is false:

This means if you try to give a stackable item (water, bread, etc.) to a player who doesn't already have that item in their inventory, GetSlotForItem returns nil because it never finds an existing stack and never records an empty slot to fall back to. Non-stackable items (phone, keys, etc.) work fine because they hit the elseif branch.

Fix

This tracks empty slots regardless of whether the item is stackable, while still prioritizing finding an existing stack.

Bug 2: giveItem hook payload missing toSlot

The TriggerEventHooks('swapItems', ...) call in giveItem doesn't include toSlot in its payload, unlike the regular swapItems callback which always includes it. Any registered swapItems hook that accesses payload.toSlot will get nil and potentially block the give.

Fix

Add toSlot to the hook payload and a nil guard earlier in the function:

Bug 1 is the main cause of this issue. Bug 2 can cause intermittent failures depending on what hooks you have registered.

We managed to fix this issue on our end with these patches. We are using a heavily reworked version too.
