Important Files

NTUA52.STA

This file (
~/tables/sta/NTUA52.STA
) contains the station information for all non-EPN,
non-URANUS stations that are processed by NTUA (including but not limited to networks Greece, Santorini, etc).
It should always be up-todate, the script
update-sta.sh
should take care of this.

Notes for
NTUA52.STA

Station
artu
, which is an IGS station used in our processing, is not listed in the official
EUREF station information file. Hence, we have extracted its records from
CODE's station information file and added them to
NTUA52.STA
. It's radome
though is changed from
DOME
to
NONE
, since there is no calibration for it's antenna/radome pair. The same is done from CODE, where in
the Phase Center Variation file it is written that the
DOME
is : IGS08_1888 ADOPTED from NONE.

Station
mat1
, which is an IGS station used in our processing, is not listed in the official
EUREF station information file. Hence, we have extracted its records from
CODE's station information file and added them to
NTUA52.STA
.

RECEIVER.NTUA

This file is a copy of the default RECEIVER. file, but additionaly contains all gnss receivers used in any of the sites we process (or is not included
in the
RECEIVER.
file but is needed).

All receiver types included in
RECEIVER.NTUA
but not in
RECEIVER.
should be
recorded in the file:
~/tables/etc/receiver.
.

Note that the file can be found at
~/bern52/BERN52/GPS/GEN
. Only touch
this file if you know what you're doing!!.

NTUA.BLQ

This file is a concatenation of the individual BLQ files: EPN_FES2004.BLQ and
GREECE.BLQ
and
contains correction terms for computing ocean loading induced displacements, according to the FES2004 model.
Note that the centre of mass correction is not applied, i.e. the header includes
the line:
$$ CMC: NO (corr.tide centre of mass)

Cron Jobs

update-pcv.sh

This script is responsible for updating the (bernese-specific) Phase Center
Variation .PCV files. It lives in
/cron
folder and should run on a daily basis.

It will download three antex files and transform them to PCV files:

epn_08.atx to
~/tables/pcv/PCV_EPN.PCV

epnc_08.atx to
~/tables/pcv/PCV_EPC.PCV
and

epn_08.atx to
~/tables/pcv/PCV_IGS.PCV

All output is directed to a logfile named
~/cron/update-pcv.log
. Inspect this file for any errors.

The update-pcv.sh script calls the
~/autobpe/bin/atx2pcv.sh
program to perform the conversion. It also needs the
campaign named EPNDENS1. If anything goes wrong, check the log file (and then maybe the output file(s)

~/data/GPSDATA/CAMPAIGN52/ENSDENS1/BPE/ATX2PCV.*
and
~/data/GPSDATA/CAMPAIGN52/ENSDENS1/BPE/APYYSSS0_*.LOG
).

update-sta.sh

This script is responsible for updating the Station Information records for all sites maintained/processed by EUREF.
It lives in
/cron
folder and should run on a daily basis.

It will download the (station information) file EUREF.STA
and merge the records therein with the ones in the file
~/tables/sta/NTUA52.STA
. This will create a new, merged
(station information) file named
~/tables/sta/EPN.STA
.

The script calls the program
~/autobpe/bin/stamrg.sh
and it needs the campaign named EPNDENS1. All output
is dumped to the log file
~/cron/update-sta.log
.

sync_w_bern52.sh

This script synchronizes (i.e. updates) the folder
~/bern52/BERN52/GPS/GEN/
with the remote folder at
AIUB. It lives in
/cron
folder and should run on a daily basis.

The script uses the program
~/autobpe/bin/syncwbern52.sh
. All output is directed to the (log) file
~/cron/sync_w_bern52.log
.

FAQ

Error Messages

*** SR MISSING: Following antenna(s) not found in phase
center information file:
TPSCR3_GGD CONE 0
Filename: ${X}/GEN/foo.I08

<em(watch the trailing '0' after the antenna/radome)

This is caused by the representation of the generic antenna (represented by '0' and not '999999').

grep
the PCV file for the antenna; if you see this line:

TPSCR3_GGD CONE 0 G 2 1 0 5 5 90 IGS08_1888 ROBOT 03-APR-13

instead of this:

TPSCR3_GGD CONE 999999 G 2 1 0 5 5 90 IGS08_1888 ROBOT 03-APR-13

you should probably re-compile the PCV file, using the
--enable-individual-calibration
switch (via the
atx2pcv.sh
script).

From Bernese v5.2:

[Chapter 18.2.3]

In the phase center eccentricity file there is a now a distinction between two cases:

If individual antenna calibrations shall be considered in a campaign, individual antenna numbers
ranging from 1 to 999998 are used for individually calibrated antennas,
while the antenna number "999999" is used to indicate type–specific calibrations
(i.e., applied to all antennas of the same type with no individual calibration available)
in the phase center eccentricity file.

If only type–specific calibrations shall be considered in a campaign, all antennas are
stored with the antenna number "0" in the phase center eccentricity file (i.e., there
is only one calibration per antenna type).

Both modes require separate phase center eccentricity files, whose generation requires
different option settings in the program ATX2PCV (see description on option “Set number
of generic antennas to 999999” in Section 18.3.1).

It is also important to know that all processing programs have to find all expected entries in
the antenna phase center eccentricity file. As soon as an antenna is connected to a receiver
that supports other systems than only GPS, the corresponding corrections are requested
for all additional GNSS as well.

[Chapter 18.3.1]

The option "Set number of generic antennas to 999999" in panel "ATX2PCV 2: ANTEX Conversion"
is important, because it is the switch between consideration or non–consideration
of individual antenna calibrations in your processing: It must be activated if individual
antenna calibrations shall be considered. All group-specific calibrations then get the an-
tenna number "999999" in the phase center file, while the individually calibrated antennas
have their individual 6-digit numbers. If only group calibrations are to be considered in
the processing, the option must be de–activated. In this case, the phase center file will
only contain group calibrations with the antenna number "0".
