Can't Finish Network Client Mode Setup Wizard

I am attempting to spin up Nutify in Network Client mode, but it gets stuck at the last page where it is complaining about there being no UPS definitions found in ups.conf. The wizard shows a preview of ups.conf and there are comments in this file that literally say the file is empty because the app is in netclient mode. Am I missing something here? Compose file is unmodified except for port 443 getting commented out because I will not be using the built in SSL functionailty.

I am currently running amd64-latest, care to elaborate on how "Easy to config with ENV variables" resolves this issue?

Same issue here with amd64-0.1.7.

I'm getting this error with 0.1.7, but it was working until a recent reboot. Not sure why, as nothings changed

Failed to start NUT drivers: device->Product is NULL so it is not possible to determine whether to activate max_report_size workaround

And I rebooted it and it's started working again. I'm going to take that as a win. 🤷🏼

If you install a version old enough where the configuration was done in the Docker Compose.
You can get Nutify running and have the database created and lock it all down. THEN upgrade to AMD latest. And at boot it will migrate everything for you and update it.

Since this repo doesn't have any history, I don't understand how development happens, and I've been thinking about switching to another container, but I haven't got around to it yet.

Brute forcing client mode through installing --I think it was version 15-- was how I got it running.

I was trying to get 0.1.7 running as well but I'm facing the same issue as @Macenstine.
I'm trying to run it in standalone mode though and the preview file is properly populated as far i can tell, but i still get the same error.
I can see that dummy config files with content different from the Wizard preview are created on my disk and have tried copying the content from the WebUI into them but no luck since it seems to know that the Wizard never finished.

I downloaded the 0.1.5 source to see what ENV variables I'd need to set for this workaround, but sadly it seems that standalone mode wasn't available back then, at least there was no mention in the README (correct me if i'm wrong). I just want to monitor my UPS and track historical data, that's all.

Sadly @DartSteven doesn't seem to be monitoring the issues a whole lot. Also development of this repo seems to have come to kind of a halt, when in the beginning he seems to have been very active.

I have tried PeaNUT in the meantime, which I was able to connect to an instance of a Synology NUT-Server but it is far from perfect as it only supports live-data and historical monitoring requires having an instance of InfluxDB 2.x and Grafana running which I didn't really want to spin up myself for now, but maybe I have to.

I hope development will continue at some point though, because the project seems very promising albeit developed in a bit of a weird way. Maybe Nutify can also be run a little less privileged and the dockerfile can be a bit more hardened in the future since it seems to be very privilige-hungry at the moment according to the compose requirements.

Here's to hopefully a bit more fun with this in the next year.
