Weird behavior of 'Escape'

Pressing Escape on a physical keyboard behaves like Android’s back button. It exits fullscreen mode, and if pressed twice, it closes VS Code entirely.

This behavior is unexpected and often leads to accidental app closures. It’s also inconvenient to have to re-enter fullscreen mode after pressing Escape for legitimate reasons (e.g., closing a dialog or dismissing a suggestion).
