[FR] Allow live temperature offset adjustment without recompilation

Is there a option to make thos configurable from esphome without recompilng ? I have diffrent offset for winter and diffrent in summer :) and i could make simple life improving automation for that but without live adjusting its not gonna happen :)

Hi, this is already possible with some extra yaml configuration.

I just tried the following:

your offset config only working on + values
and why its also changing target temp ? it should be only current - current_temperature_offset:

I used a unsigned integer by accident, which can only hold non-negative values.
Updated the comment with a signed integer, should work with negative values now.

About the changing target temp. Can't really tell much about that, that's how the current offset is implemented.

Oh, then it kinda doesn't make sense, or maybe I didn't catch the idea of how it's working.
My AC in heating mode is showing wrong current temp numbers (switching the temp sensor to a different location solves that issue - I have another same AC where I did it).
Example:

My target temp: 22°C
Current temp from sensor: 26°C
Real temp: 20°C

If I set current_temperature_offset: -6 (to correct the +6°C error):

Will it show target temp 16°C and current 20°C?
Then it will never heat to my actual target of 22°C that way, right?

The displayed/selected target temperature is taking the offset into account as well.
In your case, if the offset is - 6, setting a target of 22 will 'behind the scenes' set the AC actually to 28. See also detailed description in #137

Debug logs do print the actual values sent to the AC, in case you want to double check.
