Good day,

I wanted to ask if the switch implementation is still being worked on? Because .. Pokemon sword and shield have been out there for a while, Lets Go Pikachu and evoli too. But unfortunately there is no CFW option to transfer Pokemon, which is a shame. I would really look forward to PKSM for the Switch.

That would be so cool, but I don't think they are working on a switch version anytime soon.

That would NOT be good EVER, because EVERYONE who uses CFW or homebrew and plays sword and shield, as well as Lets go, certainly wants this program.

Well, we just hope that it will be worked on :)

I wonder if this would catch their attention if it was put under the "improvements" tag? I dunno

And @INFINITE-PIKA, if you don't think that I'm not aware that this exists, you're quite wrong. I just haven't had the time nor motivation to design a UI and/or assets for a Switch version that I'm happy with

Just for anyone who looks at this and has experience designing UIs and creating assets for them, I'm absolutely terrible at it and would greatly appreciate them reaching out to us. That's probably the largest blockage right now

I agree, the UI is probably the most difficult part.
Maybe you could do something similar to what you did for Checkpoint on Switch. Basically using the same basic UI scheme as the 3DS version but combining it all onto one screen.

The issue of creating assets still stands there, as well as how the UI would be merged.

Mhm, the 3DS assets are really, really small, in accordance with its screen size; we have several that are about 5x11 pixels, as an example. Scaling them up for the Switch would look horribly pixelated. Checkpoint is lucky in that nearly its entire interface is just solid triangles; PKSM is, much, much more complicated UI-wise. Design of the screen merge is also a major problem; I don't know how having the storage and the loaded game's Pokémon on-screen at once could work without them both being really tiny. My current thoughts are that a complete redesign is necessary because of that, but, again, I have no skills for doing either UI design or asset creation.

I see, that does seem very challenging. I wish there was something I could do to help but I'm not much good at asset creation.
Maybe I could come up with a UI concept though.

@piepie62 I'm thinking I might take a crack at designing the UI for a possible PKSM Switch port, I don't know what the requirements are for the assets, but I could also take a crack at that as well.

Hey here's a question, could we maybe just use Borealis for UI. I know it wouldn't be as nice as the original but it would probably be best to get a slightly mediocre UI and have an app available then update it with a better UI later rather than wait forever to do it in the first place.

A UI library isn't the issue, the issue is UI design, and especially assets. Someone still needs to make proper assets for a switch version to exist, and a layout for how those assets will be drawn so that users can see what they're doing.

A gen 1 box style implementation is obviously possible without those, but it'd look horrible and be horribly non-user friendly.

Hmm yes that is a challenge, I agree that would likely be very non-user friendly.

Hmm, is it the app building process or the other elements involved?
