Platform support

Linux and Windows are the supported platforms. The documented installation routes cover Ubuntu/Debian and Windows 11. GitHub Actions runs the baseline suite and GUI interaction checks on ubuntu-latest and windows-latest, each with Python 3.10, 3.12, 3.13 and 3.14.

macOS support is suspended after the reported failure of the v0.14.4 macOS / Python 3.10 job. The reported failed-job status alone does not identify a cause. Removing macOS from CI changes the supported scope; it is not a fix for that failure. Restoring support requires investigation of the failure and native validation of installation, launchers and GUI behavior on macOS.

The platform follow-up keeps all eight Linux/Windows combinations and their existing test commands. Failures on those platforms still fail CI. Existing macOS compatibility branches and platform simulation tests remain in the source, but their presence does not mean macOS is supported.

This is a CI/documentation follow-up to commit 023484a (v0.14.4). It leaves VERSION at 0.14.4. The published tag, release ZIP and previous Actions result remain historical records; a new commit starts a new run. Do not move the v0.14.4 tag or rerun the release helper for this follow-up.

Validation for this follow-up checks the parsed workflow against the fetched v0.14.4 workflow: only the macOS matrix entry and its FFmpeg installation step are removed. Linux/Windows jobs, triggers, permissions, Python versions and test commands retain their previous settings. Application code and player assets are unchanged. New hosted Linux/Windows results must be checked after pushing the follow-up commit.
