F-Droid / IzzyOnDroid

Steps to reproduce the bug

  • Open a folder with images in Fossify File Manager.
  • change the ordering of the files
  • open the first photo using Fossify Gallery
  • scroll to the next photo

Expected behavior

The ordering in Fossify Gallery is the same as the ordering in File Manager.

Actual behavior

The ordering is not the same. It seems that Gallery has a default ordering and there is no connection between File Manager and Gallery ordering.

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

Additional information

If the Gallery was an external app, this behavior could be excused, it's hard to manage behavior of external programs. However, since both these apps are inside the same org and user your control, I think it should be possible to communicate some kinda ordering information in the file open intent in Android so that the ordering can be maintained across apps.

This has bothered me a lot.
