Accesspoint name had to be changed from Pixel_5939 to pixie

Had to try it out.. :)

1. Vmware workstation (12.5.8 build-7098237) with win7 x86 32bit SP 1 as client host is win7 64bit.. and,

2. usb dongle "Realtek 8812BU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC"
   a. 64 bit driver on host
   b. 32 bit driver in vm (32bit win 7 client SP 1)

3. pixel 9A

4. TEGU

Pixel api settings:
2.4 GHz only
ap name pixel_5939 -- after factory reset.
typed in password "12345678" --> not connect
then,
Changed ap name to "pixie" -- > connect perfect
once changed ap name from "pixel_5939" to "pixie"

There's something wrong on your desktop OS side, not GrapheneOS. You likely added the network with incorrect info so changing the name and adding it again worked.
