Update required: Windows .exe build for the latest Codex version
Description
The Codex application has recently updated. When attempting to use the current Windows port, the app no longer allows authorization. Instead, it displays a notification stating that a new version is available for download, but the provided link points exclusively to the macOS version.
Current Behavior
- Launching the app leads to a mandatory update screen.
- Authorization is blocked by the update prompt.
- Users are redirected to download a
.dmgfile (macOS), which is incompatible with Windows.
Expected Behavior
A new release of this port is needed, synchronized with the latest Codex version, including a compiled .exe build for Windows users to restore login functionality.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the Codex Windows application.
- Observe the "Update Available" message instead of the login screen.
- Note that there is no option to bypass this and log in using the current version.
Additional Context
Since the official Codex app is built for macOS, this Windows port is the only way for many of us to use the tool. Your effort in maintaining this is greatly appreciated!
