Opaque titlebar & black taskbar issue

• My version of Windows is up to date (Atleast up to April 2024 as per update warning)
• I'm running the latest version or the one prior of the Windows 10to7 Transformation Pack (I checked the changelog on the downloads page before opening the issue).

Summarise the issue

I've been having this problem for a while with no solution working. Both the taskbar and titlebar do not show transparency additionally with the taskbar being fully black, which I assume it has something to do with OpenGlass. Despite updating the symbols using x64dbg, this issue still persists, and I have also tried using the 'Symbols.fix' .bat file, but it only flashes CMD for a split second with no result taking place after.

1. Reinstalling the transformation pack
2. Attempting to update the symbols using x64dbg

Expected behaviour

Both the taskbar & titlebar displaying it's transparency and full color

This sounds like a major OpenGlass failure

Could you try these OpenGlass settings and see if this fixes the issue?

Ran both files. There's definitely more transparency and color on the taskbar than before, but switching to the default 7 Aero theme, I'm not sure if it's supposed to look this dark.

Try deleting all registry keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM other than AccentColor, AccentColorInactive, AlwaysHibernateThumbnails, Composition, EnableAeroPeek and EnableWindowColorization and in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm delete all other than AnimationAttributionEnabled, AnimationAttributionHashingEnabled, BackdropBlurCachingThrottleMs (If it exists), DwmInitSessionActivity (Do not delete all of them), GradientWhitePixelGPUBlacklist, OneCoreNoBootDWM and ShaderLinkingGPUBlacklist. Then import the registry configs again.

AccentColorInactive doesn't seem to appear in that folder oddly enough, but I have deleted everything else, imported the registry configs and it's unfortunately still dark. Although, while changing themes, for a split second the colors start to become bright, but afterwards it goes back to the colors shown in the screenshots above.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I would try disabling the OpenGlass task in Task Scheduler and see what happens (000OpenGlass is the 21H2to7 OpenGlass task)

No change, I'm unsure if I need to restart or anything afterwards. I have changed around themes that I assume would refresh things (correct me if I'm wrong), but still no luck.

Yeah restarting is required after disabling the service

I also had to log off & on to get the titlebar buttons back to it's Windows 7 size, I'm not sure if you're overall familiar with that bug aswell

Though I should probably mention this, yesterday I tried to install the latest legacy release on the OpenGlass github, the taskbar seemed to go back to normal, but the titlebars were completely gray, and I couldn't get it back to it's color. I remember someone had a similar issue and you suggested those two .bat files, but then again there was no visible change.

Okay that's a way important thing to know. Latest openglass doesn't work right with aero window manager stock and i made a fork (https://github.com/ImSwordQueen/aero-window-manager-OPL-2.0/releases/tag/AAAA). I think latest OpenGlass messes up something so it turns the titlebars black when you downgrade.

If you use alternative openglass installs keep the 000Openglass task but keep it disabled to not make the new openglass conflict with the 21H2to7 openglass.

Good to know you were upgrading OpenGlass too as the configs i gave are meant for OpenGlass 2.0 as well.
