(request) option to restrict commit message history to the current author

Hello, and thank you for the very helpful extension! 😄 👍
It seems that the current implementation is picking commit messages across all authors/devs.
I guess some people find this useful, but personally, I would like to restrict the history to only my commits.
Would it be too much to ask for an option like this? 🤞 🙏
