Navbar items still focused after click and not focused

When I click an item in the navbar (Open in new tab), the text still remain blue:

Instead after clicking and out of focus it should look like this:

I wasn't able to find a fix by tweaking main.css since I'm not familiar with CSS, but I think it's something linked with the class navbar-item since it also happens when clicking "Jekyll Garden" in the top left.
