Video conversion seems to get stuck at last step (99%)

I will try to take a look myself, I'm just making an issue to note down details.

In the UI, at 99%, conversion seems to halt (and stay for >6 hours before I just kill it).

The last step as the file is rendered is invoking exiftool to add the necessary tags to the video to render correctly in video players. The progress at 99% would indicate that this is where it's stuck. A few questions for you:

• Did it create the output file?
• Are you using the .deb packaged release or the AppImage?
• Set the log level to "verbose", toggle "Overwrite log file" to off to make it save a timestamped log file every time the program runs, and then please try to re-render a video (use a small video to render it quickly) to get some logs - cancel if it gets stuck at 99% again, exit the program and attach the log file here. Mainly I'm interested in the logs about completion of rendering, as in:

• What's your exiftool path in the settings tab?
• Can you run command -v exiftool and let me know the result (it should output the path to exiftool if its in your path)

I have noticed that exiftool does take time to write the tags for large videos, but 6 hours sounds absolutely ridiculous.

Hey Jusas, thanks for taking the time.

Actually I walked away from my computer for 3 days and when I came back, it'd finished 4 files. I'll try some of the debug steps you mentioned on the next run, might get some insight into why it took so long. I'm running the AppImage btw, on a Manjaro system.

Trying your experimental build, it's still stuck at 99% for quite a long time. The overall conversion maybe took, idk, 30 minutes for a file, and now it's been at 99% for an hour. I'll check back in a few hours.

Back after 5 hours, two videos are completed and one is on 99. The two videos are 3.73gb and 347mb, the latest is 3.73 as well.

Did you turn on the logging to get some output? I'm very sure it's the video tagging that is the culprit here but it would be nice to get confirmation from the logs.

I'll try the logs on the next batch! Certainly seems to be taking quite a while, I'm on day 2 now and it's on 99% for the final video in this set of about 8.
