Hey there,

there are situations the shortcut control + space works, but sometimes for some reason it won't work anymore.
I change it to another key like "control", wihtout spacebar and it works then. When I change it back to ctrl + spacebar the issue is still going on.

Hi,

Ctrl+Space is also the macOS system shortcut to switch input sources, so it often conflicts. Do you have more than one input source (keyboard language) configured? You can check in System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Input Sources. Try disabling "Select the previous input source" there, or keep a shortcut without Space (Ctrl+Option+M or F2 for example).

Another lead: does it stop working right after using a password field or an app like Terminal with "Secure Keyboard Entry" enabled? macOS hides normal keys from other apps in that mode, but not modifiers, which would explain why Ctrl alone keeps working.

If none of that matches, enable debug mode (Settings > System > Debug mode), reproduce the issue and send me the logs.
