Zed Editor Support

Hi team! For the short while that I used VScode, I refuse to touch it anymore.

I've been using Zed Editor and realized there is no Kilo :(

It could be implemented via kilocode-cli and ACP mode https://zed.dev/docs/ai/external-agents
the same way as Gemini CLI, Claude Code, and Codex

This is definitely the way. Not trivial, but very valuable. JetBrains IDEs now also supports ACP, meaning you get more IDEs with 1 standard, so a lot less work.

Hey, I am also using Zed for quite a long time. I would love to see Kilo Code extension in Zed. ACP is fine but damn. For some reason none of the ACP providers (that I've seen) gives everything you would expect, this means:

• all commands
• codebase indexing
• generally the native experience
  I've tried OpenCode, Claude Code, Gemini CLI through ACP in Zed but naaah, it's just not the same. Maybe the implementation is just not that great.

Anyway, it keeps me from buying Kilo Code. Once I see it in Zed then yeah, I would LOVE to go for it!

We clearly want kilo in Zed. It will be a great combination of speed and productivity.

ACP mode will have to be the way to go, as Zed limits the functionality of its extensions. It is not possible to make a full Kilo Code-style extension in Zed.

Therefore, the tricky part will be handling indexing (also a feature that has been requested built-in to Zed, which the Zed team has ignored...). However, there is some work going on in the Discord to add indexing support to the Kilo CLI. We can likely use similar functionality to add indexing support to Kilo in Zed.
