Linux: Stuck on "Starting Roblox" With the Flatpak (#63)
On some systems, NixOS in particular, the Flatpak version of Voidstrap stayed on Starting Roblox forever. Sober opened without a display and failed with
SDL_INIT_VIDEO failed ... wayland,x11 not available.Voidstrap now reads your real desktop session (display, Wayland socket, session bus and session type) from the host and passes it to Sober. Sober now opens on your desktop like it does outside the Flatpak.
While reproducing this, a second NixOS problem turned up and was fixed too. Programs that are links to the real file, which is how NixOS installs everything, were treated as missing. Voidstrap now follows those links when it looks for a program.
If Roblox fails to start on Linux, the launch window now stays open and shows Roblox could not start with the error, instead of closing with no explanation.
Thanks to @KSGVIO for the detailed report and logs.
Linux: Mouse Drifting Off Screen While Turning the Camera (#66)
Holding right click to turn the camera could leave the mouse on another monitor when you let go.
This happened because Voidstrap started Sober through XWayland by default whenever the custom cursor or the Roblox window title and icon features were on. Sober now runs natively on Wayland by default, which keeps the mouse locked while you turn the camera.
The custom cursor and window title and icon still work under Wayland if you turn on the new Run Roblox through XWayland option on the Sober page. The option says clearly that it can bring back the mouse drift.
Thanks to @obaba-samich for the report.
Roblox Priority Ignoring Your Selection
The priority you choose for Roblox is now the one that's used. Before, Optimize Roblox and the TASX optimizer could quietly replace it with Above Normal or High.
Matchmaker
Linux: Overlays and Game Effects During Teleports
Linux: CPU Core Limit
The CPU core limit now applies to every Sober thread and reads your processor's layout correctly, so the limit covers the right cores.
Other Fixes
Added
Custom Accent Color
The Appearance page has a new Accent color option. Pick any color for the app's controls and background tint, or choose Use system color to go back to your Windows accent.
Notifications Tab
Notification settings have their own Notifications tab, with a switch for each kind:
Turning off App Notifications turns them all off at once. The notification list also shows each title, message and how long ago it arrived.
Shortcut Name and Icon
Each shortcut (Roblox, Roblox Studio and Voidstrap Settings) now has a Name and icon section on the Shortcuts page and in the installer. Rename a shortcut or give it any of the Voidstrap icons or your own image (
.ico,.png,.jpg,.bmpor.webp, up to 8 MB).On Linux, shortcuts are now set up correctly and start Voidstrap reliably.
Import Settings From Bloxstrap or Fishstrap
Switching over is now one click. Apply From on the Channel page and in the installer copies your settings and FastFlags from Bloxstrap or Fishstrap, including theme, bootstrapper style, icon, channel and Discord options.
Apply Fast Flags To
A new Apply Fast Flags to option on the FastFlags page chooses whether your Fast Flags apply to the Roblox player, Roblox Studio, or both. Launches that are left out start without them, and your Fast Flags are kept.
Fast Flag Editor Actions
Right click a flag in the Fast Flag editor to Rename it, Edit value, Copy selected as JSON or Delete selected.
Server Uptime
The Server Information window now shows how long the server has been running. It works on Windows and on Linux through Sober, using the start time Roblox writes to its log.
Launch Button Version Picker
Save and Launch is now a split button. The arrow opens Choose Roblox version, so you can pick what it starts. You can move the arrow to the right side with Place the version dropdown on the right.
AssetWarp Works With Fleasion
AssetWarp can now run alongside Fleasion. When Fleasion is running, it forwards through AssetWarp instead of the two fighting over Roblox's traffic. Voidstrap follows Roblox launched by Fleasion and puts Fleasion's routing back when AssetWarp closes.
Linux: NVIDIA Settings
The NVIDIA page now works on Linux. FXAA, the benchmark overlay, the frame rate limiter and low latency mode apply to Sober. The benchmark overlay uses MangoHud, and Voidstrap offers to install it when needed. Settings that only exist on Windows are hidden.
Linux: Sober Launcher
A new Launcher option on the Sober page puts a command in front of Sober, for example
prime-runon laptops with two graphics cards, gamemoderunormangohud. If the command isn't installed, Sober starts without it.Uninstall Restores NVIDIA Settings
Uninstalling Voidstrap now puts back the NVIDIA driver settings it changed for Roblox, asking for administrator approval when needed. If that fails, Voidstrap asks whether to uninstall anyway instead of stopping.
Improved
Game History
Game History has been rebuilt:
Fast Flag Search & Validation
The Fast Flag search window has been rebuilt:
Discord Rich Presence
Command Palette
Search in the command palette finds settings and pages more accurately, and is easier to move through with the keyboard.
Linux
.rpmpackage needs fewer packages to install (WebKit and GStreamer are now recommended instead of required), and the.rpmand Arch packages make sure a font is installedRemoved
Custom Discord Rich Presence
The RPC Customizer (custom Discord status) has been removed. Voidstrap's built in Discord status covers the game, server and app.
Player and Message Logs
The Player and Message logs option under Integrations has been removed.
Channel Page Buttons
Check for Updates and Global Settings on the Channel page have been replaced by Apply From (see above). Voidstrap still checks for updates by itself.

What's Next?
Linux support keeps being refined based on your reports, and both Linux issues from 1.1.2.9 are fixed in this release. If Run Roblox through XWayland is off and the mouse still drifts, please open a new issue.
As always, bug reports and feedback are extremely valuable. Crash reports include your logs automatically, so please use Report on GitHub whenever Voidstrap shows an error.
Full Changelog: v1.1.2.9...v1.1.3.0
Don't expect Linux support to be as optimal as you think as this is a more early release.
Thanks to everyone helping test Voidstrap, report problems and share feedback in the community.
Your reports help us find issues and improve reliability in future updates.
