Description
Poor image quality after scaling:
- Images 13 and 15 are especially poor after scaling. This is probably caused by the combined effect of using a low-res image as source and a known issue in Waifu2x that images containing expansive white background. Consider a new routine to generate them from images 17 and 19.
- Some icons and raster texts do not scale well, this need to be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Display issues:
- Currently, alpha channel is split from the image, scaled using the RGB model of waifu2x and re-merged later. This may result in aliasing or loss of sharpness at the edge of sprites.
- Main sprites, once scaled, have fairly strong aliased edges at 100%, becoming less visible at 150% and completely gone at 200%. Consider disabling tween animation altogether - it is a useless visual gimmick we can do without.
- 2x icons become fuzzy when downscaled (this is NOT related to another issue with exporting SHAPE2 and SHAPE3 tags).
Unscaled Images: - Currently a number of images cannot be scaled by the script as they are called directly by scripts rather than contained in shapes. This includes but not limited to: Outside scenery, ship drop/remodel/developement background, plus everything contained in standalone .png images. More patching will be required to bring proper scaling and this is not a priority right now.
