How to open an Ebook from Overdrive?

Hi,

I am completely new to ebooks and to calibre. I have "borrowed" an ebook from my local library through https://voebb.overdrive.com/. On Overdrive, there was an option "Download EPUB", which downloaded an ACSM file that is only 1.8 KiB, so it obviously only contains metadata about the book and not the book itself.

I installed Calibre and the DeACSM plugin and added the ACSM file to Calibre. I'm not sure what I need to do next. Here is what I have tried so far:

• Double clicking the book in Calibre opens my text editor with the XML contents of the ACSM file
• Converting the book gives the error No supported formats (Available formats: acsm)
• Viewing the book using the Calibre ebook reader shows DeACSM v0.0.16: ADE auth is missing or broken along with some other information
• In the "Customize DeACSM" dialog, when I click "Link to ADE account", I can select Overdrive from the account providers, but then I have to insert an e-mail address and a password. However, to log in with my Overdrive account I have to specify my library, my library card number and my library password. This does not seem to be possible through the DeACSM UI?

What do I need to do next?

Ok, it seems like I figured it out. What I needed to do:

• I registered an account on https://account.adobe.com/ and linked DeACSM to that account. It seems like I don't need to use an Overdrive account in order to open the ACSM file downloaded from Overdrive.
• I needed to add the ACSM file to Calibre again after installing the DeASCM plugin. The book added before installing the plugin didn't work.
• I needed to install the DeDRM plugin. I couldn't find the plugin through the UI, so I downloaded it from https://github.com/noDRM/DeDRM_tools/releases, extracted the ZIP and installed it from the folder through the UI.

Not it seems like I can open my ebook and have it available in EPUB format. Thank you!
