Thanks for the bug report! This appears to be related to how the chat session hook handles effect dependencies.

The likely culprit is in use-chat-session.ts, which has a useEffect that fetches tools metadata whenever selectedServers or selectedModel changes. If both dependencies change during initialization or re-render (which can happen when starting a chat), this effect fires twice, causing duplicate tools/list and prompts/list calls.

Similar duplicate call issues have been fixed in recent PRs:

• PR #1333 - Fixed tools pagination with explicit state clearing
• PR #1338 - Eliminated duplicate processing by batching tool calls
• PR #1370 - Fixed duplicate tool calls in approval flow

A fix would likely involve adding debouncing, request deduplication, or restructuring the effect dependencies to prevent rapid successive calls.
