Thanks for the update. There is also a need to be able to build older versions of software (eg. UM 13.0, 13.1 etc.) from Github. When will this be available for user testing? |

📢 Simulation Systems Git Migration – Upcoming Changes and Timeline
We’re pleased to report that work on the summer release of the Simulation Systems codebases is progressing well. In parallel, we are preparing for a significant transition: the migration of our repositories from Subversion/Trac to Git/GitHub, which is scheduled for completion during Autumn 2025.
As this milestone approaches, we’d like to share our current migration plan and highlight key dates to help you prepare for any potential disruption. At this stage, no action is required beyond familiarising yourself with Git and GitHub. Further guidance will follow in September.
📅 Migration Timeline
June 2025
Completion of summer releases of Simulation IT repositories (Apps 2.2, UM 13.9, etc.)
July – September 2025
Continue standard development and release processes using the current FCM/Trac infrastructure. Preparations begin for the first GitHub-based release.
26 September 2025
⚠️ Code Review Deadline – All development tickets intended for inclusion in the FCM (MOSRS) repositories must be submitted for review by this date. This is a firm deadline to ensure a smooth transition.
October 2025
Complete all final code commits to the FCM repositories before the migration begins. Subversion trunks will be frozen for general developers.
November 2025
Officially migrate all relevant repositories from Trac to GitHub, marking a major shift in version control systems. Subversion trunks will be frozen for core developers.
Late 2025 / Early 2026
First official release on GitHub. Subversion repositories will no longer accept commits.
🔧 What to Expect
We will continue to provide updates and guidance throughout this process to ensure a smooth transition. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
Thank you,
The Simulation Systems & Deployment (SSD) Team
