I am having issues with installing a package from custom repository

It works for me, make sure you enter all details in json and make no mistake there. Also check if there are errors while adding your repository.

If you're still having the issue, a full log of the repo activity from the Javascript Console app may be helpful for tracking down what happened. Or, if you have the repository's URL onhand, I can try to load it myself and see if I can track down the issue that way.
