🛡️ Overview

CrimeIntel v1.1.0 is the official stable release of the CrimeIntel AI-driven crime analytics and intelligence platform, built and finalized for the Karnataka Police Datathon 2026.

CrimeIntel transforms fragmented police records across FIRs, districts, police stations, arrests, chargesheets, victims, accused persons, and legal records into an integrated, actionable decision-support platform for law-enforcement officers, analytical personnel, and command staff.

🌟 Key Highlights & Capabilities

1. 📊 Role-Based Executive & Analytical Dashboards

  • Field Officer Workflow: Rapid incident lookup, station beat records, local hotspot summaries, and priority case tracking.
  • Intelligence Analyst Workflow: Cross-district crime comparisons, multi-year temporal trend analysis, spatial density heatmaps, DBSCAN clustering, and CCRI risk scoring.
  • Administrator Workflow: Immutable security audit logging, system telemetry, and user access oversight.

2. 🗺️ Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (Google Maps)

  • Native Google Maps integration (@vis.gl/react-google-maps) with high-performance vector rendering.
  • Interactive coordinate plotting with crime category color coding.
  • Dynamic incident clustering for dense urban precincts.
  • Intensity heatmap visualization across Karnataka police jurisdictions.
  • Location-based metadata modals displaying FIR dossiers and IPC classifications.

3. 🔥 Hotspot Detection & AI/ML Analytics

  • DBSCAN Spatial Clustering: Algorithmic detection of geographic crime concentrations for targeted patrol beat allocation.
  • Composite Crime Risk Index (CCRI): Multi-factor risk scoring and ranking across police precincts.
  • Predictive Forecasting: Multi-day crime incident volume projections (1 to 30 days).

4. 🏙️ District & Station Intelligence Profiles

  • Comprehensive intelligence dossiers covering all 31 Karnataka police districts.
  • Police station rosters, category breakdowns, temporal distributions, and recent FIR records.

5. 🔗 Criminal Network & FIR-Person Relationship Analysis

  • Graph-based relationship analysis mapping connected FIRs, person-case links, co-accused associations, and repeat-offender networks.

6. 🌐 Localization & User Preferences

  • Full bilingual interface supporting English and Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡ).
  • User preference persistence for Light/Dark theme, customizable Date/Time formats, and default role landing views.

7. 🔐 Zero-Trust Security & Server-Side RBAC

  • Authentication: Supabase Auth for client sessions with FastAPI cryptographic Bearer JWT validation (JWKS / HMAC).
  • Public Root & Health Probes: Clean public GET / service status alongside /health, /health/live, and /health/ready probes.
  • Protected APIs: Deny-by-default architecture requiring Bearer JWT on all /api/v1/* routes (rejecting anonymous requests with HTTP 401 TOKEN_MISSING).
  • Server-Side RBAC: Strict least-privilege role resolution (FIELD_OFFICER, ANALYST, ADMIN) mapped to granular permissions (dashboard.read, map.intelligence.read, audit.read, etc.).
  • Rate Limiting & Security Headers: In-process fixed-window rate limiting on cost-heavy endpoints and no-store security headers on protected responses.
  • Security Audit Trail: Append-only security audit repository with query API.

8. 💾 Multi-Tier High-Performance Caching

  • L1 In-Memory LRU Cache: Process-local, thread-safe store with per-item TTL expiration and 1,000-entry capacity bounds for sub-millisecond hot reads.
  • L2 Zoho Catalyst Cache: Shared BaaS cache segment for distributed cross-worker persistence.
  • Resilience: Two-tier promotion on cache misses, mutex-based single-flight stampede protection, and safe failover to repository queries.
