Consider a permissive license

Hi, LGPL-3 license makes this crate very limited for use in industry. Is there any interest in switching to a v2 family of license, or ideally using something a bit less strongly copyleft like MPL or fully permissive like MIT/Apache?

Another license is an option but we would like to get more feedback from the community first If you are seriously interested in using this code under a permissive or commercial license, please send us an email.

I can guarantee we would not use it under LGPL, but I cannot guarantee we would for sure use it under MIT/Apache. This is because we already have C code for this use case, and therefore the incentive is to just stay on C. If there was a permissively licensed rust alternative, that changes things. But until such a crate (with a compatible license) exists, its likely we stay on C.
