Since the sample cursor is still in the works I wonder if it would be easier to allow playback of only the highlighted area in the sample edit window. When sampling audio there is no visual feedback so it's hard to trim and edit. Being able to play the highlighted part is better than nothing and helps orient where you are in the waveform.
