Request: Record countdown timer for hands free recording

It would be cool to have a record timer option (checkbox on the record prompt?) so that it counts down before going into record sample mode. I request this because as nice as it is to hold the microphone up to a TV or something to sample, sometimes I rather have the DS in one place and hold the sound making device up to it for sampling. It would make certain sampling situations a lot easier.

For example, you are going to play a note on a keyboard, you can arm the DS to record, put it next to a speaker, and you know in 3 seconds you can perform on the keyboard/synth.

0xtob had originally planned for the sample recorder to automatically trim silence at the beginning of a recording. Would that still also be helpful?

(re. draw mode needing to record silence to draw anything, in the absence of a better solution, the silence trim could be skipped if the entire recording is silent)

I dont like the idea of automatically trimming silence unless I press a button or something. Increasing the record time I think would be better. Instead of trimming silence having ANOTHER recording mode that starts recording once the input hits a certain threshhold would be helpful for the DIY cables we are all making these days. Akai samplers (the good ones lol) have this feature.

tl;dr I vote no on auto trim.
