I found this blog post explaining how to package programs built with gradle. But that does not properly work for me, I think.

Also, how do I need to update the no-native-deps.diff patch?

If you are interested in maintaining package built with gradle, I recommend checking the official documentation: https://nixos.org/manual/nixpkgs/unstable/#gradle.

Regarding updating the patch, here is the workflow I used:

# Clone the upstream repository
git clone https://github.com/skylot/jadx.git
git -C jadx checkout v1.5.3

# Make the necessary changes in the jadx directory...
git -C jadx diff > pkgs/by-name/ja/jadx/nix-build.patch

# Update the mitmCache
nix build -L .#jadx.mitmCache.updateScript
./result

# Build the package
nix build -L .#jadx
