Path to observations

My ADF comparison with observation doesn't work. Hence, I’m trying to find the ADF observations and I can't...

In
ls -lrt /projects/NS9560K/diagnostics/ADF/obs

there is a symbolic link to Mariana’s folder

lrwxrwxrwx 1 yanchun yanchun 43 Aug 22 2024 /projects/NS9560K/diagnostics/ADF/obs -> /projects/NS9560K/mvertens/obs_data/ADF_obs

But it doesn’t exist

ls: cannot access '/projects/NS9560K/mvertens/obs_data/ADF_obs': No such file or directory

The same problem occurs on the ipcc node

Yes, the ipcc node version is also a symbolic link to Mariana's folder. So looks like Mariana removed the data recently.

I rescured the data from the last Saturdays snapshot, and copied to /diagnostics/ADF-obs. So you can try with the ipcc installation.

I see the observations but the script does not find it. I have tested both
obs_data_loc: /diagnostics/ADF-obs/
and
obs_data_loc: /diagnostics/ADF-obs/ADF-obs/

This is the path:
obs_data_loc: /diagnostics/ADF-obs/ADF_obs/

(you must use underscore in the last part)

and you have to run on the ipcc node

Ah the underscore I did not see.

Now it works

This is the path:
obs_data_loc: /diagnostics/ADF-obs/ADF_obs/

This awkward path was created during my last hectic fix to the missing observation datasets.

Now I just use /diagnostics/ADF-obs.

Using the updated config_noresm_default.yaml will include the correct path.
obs_data_loc: /nird/datalake/NS16000B/ADF-obs

I will soon remove /diagnostics/ADF-obs/ADF_obs/ currently as a softlink.

I will close the issue.
