FNLSERIES :: Extract wind time series and Tecplot files (optional) from FNL/GFS files

The program extracts the horizontal wind velocities, U and V, at a constant pressure level of 
1000 mbar at the FNL/GFS point closest to the coordinates supplied by the user 


NB1: 'wgrib' must be previously installed and available as a shell command
    'link_grib.csh' must also be available as a C-shell script
    Both utilities are included in the distribution in directory 'external.code'

Instructions:

1. Compile using 'make' in directory 'fnlseries.src'

2. Create a working directory and link all fnl* files to be processed using the supplied script
   'link_grib.csh'. Example:

   >> link_grib.csh <DATA_DIR>/fnl* 

3. Edit 'fnlseries.cfg' and introduce the coordinates of all points to be processed (there is an OS 
   limit to the maximum number of points which will be the maximum number of files that may be 
   open simultaneously). Change OS limit or process by chunks.

4. Run 'fnlseries'

   >> fnlseries

5. Output files with extension .dat will be produced with time series data of the format:
   1-4 lines   : Header lines
   5-EOF lines : Wind data in 7 columns: ID (=999), direction, wind speed, 3 error values of 
   99.99 and the timestamp
