Start menu program shortcuts no longer display jumplists to recent files

Hello all-
First, please forgive the intrusion if this is not the appropriate place to ask this question.
Recently I noticed that the context menus that used to appear next to program shortcuts in my start menu are now no longer appearing. For example, at least with the upper four programs in the attached screenshot, if I floated my cursor over them, they would offer several of the most recent files opened in the given program. Just now I have learned that these are referred to as "jumplists".

• I have checked my Classic Shell settings and verified that jumplists are enabled.
• I have checked what I believe would be the operative Windows setting, and it appears correct
  (Personalization > Start > Show recently opened items in jump lists...)

I'm wondering if others have encountered this issue, and if anyone might know how to address it.

Classic Shell 4.3.1 on updated Windows 10

Do you see jumplists for those programs in standard Windows start menu?

Note that this github repo/project is about Open-Shell (successor of Classic Shell).
Classic Shell 4.3.1 is rather old (released in 2017) so it may be missing some fixes, etc.

@ge0rdi: Aha, I hadn't thought to check that, thanks!
From memory I just now held down Shift while clicking on the Start button to view the standard Windows menu. That appeared briefly, and yes, I could see the jumplists, but then the button reverted to Classic Shell, at which point I noticed that the jumplists had re-appeared there as well. So it seems that somehow the action of invoking the standard Windows menu kicked the CS functionality back in.

So now, re Open-Shell, I didn't realize it was an application, thought it was just the name of this forum. So would you recommend I switch to it instead of Classic Shell?

That is completely up to you.
If Classic Shell works for you then probably just stick to it?
Though it is no longer being developed.
Open-Shell is somehow maintained (though no big things are happening here).
Migration to Open-Shell is straightforward, can be simply installed over existing Classic Shell (we do migrate settings automatically).
