Can I trust it? #2171

No, this is just your computer being overly cautious. The installer you downloaded should be perfectly safe, assuming you downloaded it here on GitHub. This often happens with new releases of programs, especially more obscure programs, because the antivirus/Smartscreen doesn't know much about the new release yet, so it can't be sure that it's safe. In this case, though, it's safe. |

No, it does not as it was explained to you in https://github.com/Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu/discussions/2173#discussioncomment-12591567.
Defender/SmartScreen tends to block new (unsigned) executables by default. You may have encountered that with many other open-source software maintained by volunteers (means people that are spending their time on given project but don't want to spend their money on code signing certificates as those are rather costly). Whether you can/will trust this site/software is completely up to you. What we can say is that we are not aware of anything malicious in So as long as you download installer from this site (github) you are safe. |

Describe the bug
I have been aware about internet safety for a long while. Recently I was forced switched to a windows 11 due to the old computer breaking apart (rip)
But enough chitchat because my new computer is thinking that this file is deemed "unsafe" maybe it could just be true, and windows defender is protecting me or this file is actually safe and this anti virus is just acting up. I know this can actually have proof of being trusted and it's not just a random download site.
