Release Notes – Version [0.1.4]

This release brings a few helpful improvements aimed at transparency and troubleshooting:

• A new "About SyftBox" option is now available in the system menu. This opens a window that displays version information for the desktop app, frontend, and daemon—along with the commit hash for the current build. This should make it easier to reference specific versions when reporting issues or sharing feedback.
• Logging is now enabled in desktop release builds, making it easier to diagnose issues if something goes wrong. Logs are saved locally in the following locations:
• macOS: ~/Library/Logs/org.openmined.syftui
• Linux: ~/.local/share/org.openmined.syftui/logs
• Windows: C:\Users<Username>\AppData\Local\org.openmined.syftui\logs

We hope these additions make it easier to understand what’s running and simplify troubleshooting when needed. As always, thanks for being part of the SyftBox community!

Release Notes – Version [0.1.3]

We’ve made several improvements to how updates are handled to ensure you stay up to date with the latest features and fixes:
• The app now periodically checks for updates in the background so you don't have to.
• When a new update is available, a prompt will appear showing the changelog, so you can see what's new before updating.
• If you choose to postpone an update, the app will pause automatic update checks for the rest of the session—unless an even newer version is released.
• A new "Check for Updates" option has been added to the system tray menu, allowing you to manually check for updates at any time.

We hope these changes make staying up to date more convenient and transparent. As always, thank you for using our app!
