Read the UEFI version externally

I would like to know if it is possible to insert a character in the bootloader (bootshim) to store version information, so that we can directly extract the UEFI image and parse it to read the UEFI version.

I am currently building an application that utilizes DualBootKernelPatcher on Android. I wish to insert version characters into the bootshim so that we can read the version to determine whether an update to UEFI is necessary, or alternatively, download the latest fd file from Github for patching

What? There's already an arm64 app, and it can be used in Termux.

@qaz6750 Well you can easily insert that into bootshim localy but I'm not really in favor of doing that in upstream

You can do that by simply adding

.ascii "TEST"

after the last Reserved .long.
