Reading avif images

Hi! I am reading a lot of 4K 10bit AVIF images like this (from a very fast disk):

with av.open("image.avif", "r") as container:
        frame = next(container.decode(video=0))
        frame_np = frame.to_ndarray(format="yuv444p16le")  # This line is fast

But decoding them takes a lot of time, can I speed it up somehow? Can libsvtav1 be used for decoding?

libsvtav1 is an encoder, not a decoder

So the answer is that there is no faster decoder for AVIF (in PyAV at least)?

dav1d or hardware accel? (you might do programming work for this)

How do I specify that dav1d should be used during decoding?

What decoder is pyav currently using to decode these images? On my machine it defaults to libdav1d.
