glib dependencies?

Previously on Windows I had built this using the msvc builds of gstreamer and the Visual Studio Build Tools 2017 package. but I see glib.h and the glibc specific g_str_has_prefix(). Does this now need the MinGW builds of gstreamer and a mingw build environment?

tbh I've never used it on Windows, only Linux. What about glib dependency - it was present always I believe, since GStreamer is heavily based on glib. On other side, it's not big deal to get rid from g_str_has_prefix - I can do it on this weekend, or you can provide patch if you prefer.

btw, it would be great if you'll be able to provide patch with build instructions for Windows. It's ok to put it to separate file something like build-windows.md

Windows downloads for gstreamer are either built with MSVC or built using gcc via mingw. The official builds of nodejs on Windows are also built with msvc and recent version of nodejs for windows ship the msvc toolchain for use by node-gyp. I've noticed python is like that, too: everyone seems to use msvcc on windows and gcc+glib on Linux.

Just to clarify: glibc is not the same as glib. And even if app built with MSVC (and uses VC runtime instead of glibc runtime) it still can use glib library. Also I've checked link you provided and found g_str_has_prefix in headers bundled into development installer. So you just need to point your build to right include directories.

OK, it's likely no change is needed and just something is wrong with my local setup. I haven't had a chance to get back to this, but I'll share anything windows specific I end up having to do.
